MCP tools reference

Core and meta tool tables with categories and auth profiles for the managed Thirdfy MCP endpoint.

Look up every tool on the Thirdfy MCP endpoint (https://mcp.thirdfy.com), what it's for, and which credentials it accepts.

This page matches MCP server 0.1.45: 67 tools, including health and listTools. The live tool list is always the source of truth:

curl -s https://mcp.thirdfy.com/tools

Call a tool from your agent host over MCP (POST /mcp, streamable HTTP) or plain HTTP (POST https://mcp.thirdfy.com/tool/<toolName>). Every core tool below works both ways. See Connect, and for setup in your app, the Client guides.

Notes on some tools

  • previewOrder shows what a write would do without signing, billing or placing anything: size, collateral, leverage, the owner's remaining limits and each policy check. Call it before walletExecute. See Execution.
  • ownerWalletControl* tools are for the owner of a user-owned agent wallet. Thirdfy never signs these:
    1. ownerWalletControlState reads the wallet's owner, policy and signer.
    2. ownerWalletControlRequest returns an unsigned request for an owner action: a policy update after AGENT_POLICY_UPDATE_REQUIRED, stop, resume, payout change or export.
    3. ownerWalletControlSubmit relays the owner's own signature.
  • managedWalletInit, managedWalletGrant and managedWalletStatus manage the custodial wallet used for delegation. This is not the agent_wallet execution wallet that email onboarding creates and agentWalletBootstrap reports.
  • consoleMandate* tools manage the Console mandate: a per-chain grant (ERC-7710) with a daily USD cap and an expiry. Console and its Automations act for your account under it. You draft, sign, activate, read and revoke it. It is separate from delegating to a certified agent.
  • Typed tools: add ?toolsets= to the connector URL and the server also lists one tool per action for the connected agent. See Discovery.

Removed compatibility tools

The compatibility tools (the getTradingProviderActions alias and V1 protocol reads) were removed in MCP server 0.1.21. For replacements, see Removed compatibility tools.

Auth profiles (summary)

Each tool lists the credentials it accepts in the live manifest (GET /tools), as authProfile and acceptedCredentialModes:

ProfileMeaning
transportPublic, or needs only the connection itself
agent_executionNeeds an agent_api_key, or a bootstrap token where allowed
owner_interactiveNeeds an owner session or wallet proof
mixedDepends on the tool's inputs

An app signed in with a Thirdfy account (credential mode oauth) gets 17 of these tools. See What a signed-in app can do.

For details, see Connect and authenticate.

Evaluation checklist

Use these questions to check that an agent uses the tools correctly:

  • Can the agent discover earn actions with getProviderActions { provider: "earn" }?
  • Does it call agentWalletBootstrap with requireFundingCheck before walletExecute on collateralized lanes?
  • Does it use executeIntent to send to many subscribers (fan-out) and walletExecute for a single agent wallet?
  • Does it avoid self for off-chain venue orders?
